LB&A was formed in 1991.  It was formed by necessity, not plan.  As a chronic collector and packrat, I needed to start getting rid of stuff (so I could have room to get more stuff – George Carlin would have been proud of me).

I started out producing sale lists and conducting mail bid auctions.  However, when the internet came along, I immediately realized that it was made for me.  By 1998 I’d set up a website, got an account with Abebooks and was one of the first to join eBay.

I‘m coming up on 20 years as a dealer of collectibles.  But this has been a hobby, not a business.  Because I was only interested in buying and selling items that fascinated me (literature, jazz and art), I had to keep my day job.

LB&A has and will continue to have as its focus three areas: literary first edition books; jazz and blues memorabilia; and posters and art.

We buy individual item, as well as collections.  In 2011 we will be establishing a blog.  This will focus on issues dealing with collecting.  I invite everyone to send me your questions and concerns.  I will be happy to address them on the blog.

Everything I sell comes with the following guarantees:

  • First, the deal is not concluded until the customer has received and approved of the item.
  • When it arrives, if you are not satisfied, send it back for a refund – no questions asked.
  • I want only satisfied customers.

Second, everything is guaranteed to be as described – for life.  If at some later date, a reputable dealer says that an autograph is not authentic or a book is not as described, I will refund your money.  No time limit.

Terms:

  • I accept check, money orders and PayPal.  Nothing will be shipped until good funds are received.
  • I charge only out of pocket costs for shipping.  Insurance is required on orders over $200.
  • California residents without Dealer Re-sale numbers pay 9.75% sales tax
  • I will work with you lay-aways or term payments.

Privacy statement:

I never reveal any information about my customers – names, addresses, transaction details.  Nothing.
